About TCDC
Working to Connect Trinity County
TCDC is a place-rooted community development organization working at the intersection of civic infrastructure, economic development, and emerging technology. Founded in July 2023.
Our Story
Trinity County, California’s lowest-income county, is home to just 13,000 people and 3,322 jobs. Yet it holds extraordinary potential: world-class outdoor recreation, a tight-knit community of leaders, and landscape assets few rural counties can claim. What was missing was a connector — a way to bridge isolated leaders, pool resources, and support initiatives that no single organization could tackle alone.
TCDC was founded to help fill that gap. We aspire to serve as Trinity County’s accelerator — connecting local leaders to regional networks, providing fiscal sponsorship and nonprofit infrastructure for community projects, and helping coordinate complex multi-stakeholder initiatives. We work at the intersection of civic leadership, economic development, and emerging technology, asking what’s possible when a county this small acts with the clarity and coordination of much larger regions.
Our work is grounded in three core strategies: Bridge Building (connecting isolated leaders to regional resources and institutional knowledge), Fiscal Sponsorship & Incubation (providing nonprofit infrastructure for community-led projects), and Catalytic Project Development (helping lead the complex initiatives Trinity County needs but has rarely had the bandwidth to take on).
Bridge Building
Connecting isolated local leaders to regional networks, institutional knowledge, and professional resources that accelerate progress on community priorities.
Fiscal Sponsorship & Incubation
Providing nonprofit infrastructure for community-led projects, removing the burden of incorporation and compliance so leaders can focus on impact.
Catalytic Project Development
Helping lead complex multi-stakeholder initiatives that require coordination across agencies, nonprofits, and the private sector — the work no single organization can take on alone.
